about the house: a luxury 4-story townhouse (end unit), beautifully furnished, in a quiet, upscale neighborhood of mclean, as close to the silver line mclean station as is possible and still be in a lovely, leafy residential neighborhood. it is under a 10 minute walk (i’ve done it!). we are literally 1 minute to the i-66 on-ramp and another minute to 495. we are on the tyson’s side of mclean, close to 123.about the room: your bright and sunny room is on the 3rd floor along with the master, and has new and high end furniture in it: a queen sleigh bed, flat screen tv, matching night table, large chest of drawers, a long window seat under the window with plenty of storage, and a bookcase. there is also a comfy leather chair and two rush seat benches at the foot of the bed. a nice closet, too. the carpet throughout the house is new and the house was painted a year ago.
about us: i am a mature, professional woman who works as an editor. my 25 year old son attends graduate school and lives at home while he pays for tuition. he is busy studying at school most of the time, but likes to walk our beautiful yellow lab, who is very friendly. as i like a clean house, he gets a weekly bath, paws cleaned, and i am mindful of any dog hair! he stays in his crate when we are not at home.
you would be responsible for keeping your room and bath clean and tidy, and any common areas you use. i am house proud, so if you like to live in a nice environment, you would fit in perfectly. we are a quiet household during the week, but we love to talk about current events, go out to eat when we can, take nature walks around the area with the pup, and generally enjoy all that washington has to offer if we can on the weekends.
about the terms: $1200 on the first of every month. this includes all utilities, internet (wifi), cable tv (with premium channels and netflix), and a landline. one month’s security deposit. flexible on the lease terms, with 30 day notice. a background/credit check with proof of ability to pay the rent, of course. no smoking anything and no overnight guests, please-- on a rare occasion, we would have to discuss it together beforehand.
we are easy going, down to earth people who are looking for the same: a sociable, responsible person (someone with a steady 9-5 job), respectful of others (takes pride in keeping their environment clean and tidy), who would keep the vibe in the house comfortable and friendly. you would have the use of all the common areas, w/d, and the gourmet kitchen. just be considerate and clean up after yourself and everything will be copacetic! if you think you might consider joining our household in our big, comfy house, please email back! the place is available on august 30th.
